About Me
I’m Trish McCourt. I Help Non-Profits manage change.
I’m Trish McCourt, RSW – a nonprofit transformation consultant. I help nonprofit organizations build the infrastructure they need to amplify their impact without burning out their teams. With 8+ years leading provincial and regional non-profit organizations in Nova Scotia, I’ve implemented the digital tools, strategic plans, and change management approaches that actually stick.

I’ve spent most of my career inside nonprofit organizations — as an Executive Director, as a Board member, and as someone who genuinely loves this sector even when it’s hard.
I started consulting because I kept seeing the same patterns: organizations doing important work, led by people stretched too thin, working inside structures that weren’t serving them. I wanted to help fix that — not from the outside, but alongside the people doing the work.
I’m a Registered Social Worker with over 15 years of nonprofit leadership experience. I work with organizations navigating leadership transitions, governance challenges, and the gap between the values they hold and how they actually operate.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me walking the shore in Nova Scotia, advocating for women’s equality and affordable housing, or having the kind of conversation with a colleague that goes three hours longer than planned.

“I have had the pleasure of collaborating with Trish during her time as Executive Director of NSNPHA. Our team witnessed Trish build the foundation of Nova Scotia’s association and convene the sector in such a way that was strategic and meaningful for the diverse stakeholders and partners that NSNPHA aims to support. … and it was clear from the start that Trish is a strong and passionate advocate. … Trish is an articulate and responsive communicator with in-depth knowledge of non-profit leadership, jurisdictional processes, and the barriers to affordability. … It is clear that her work ethic, integrity and problem-solving would translate across any context that she is working in, within or outside of housing.”

“I have had the pleasure of working with Trish as Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Non-Profit Housing Association for nearly two years. … I truly value Trish’s ability to identify need through active listening, and lead by finding solutions on how to satisfy that need. The initiatives undertaken by the NSNPHA during her tenure have quickly established this new association as a leader across the country. Her careful and strategic approach to advocacy and sector capacity building have allowed her to lead the organization in providing tremendously beneficial value-building offerings to its membership and beyond.”

“I was pleased to work with Trish during her time as the Executive Director at the Nova Scotia Non-Profit Housing Association. … she has brough the sector together and helped many isolated practitioners and service providers connect, learn, and grow. Trish helped the sector identify common needs and find resources to help address them. ”
